Festival Party Spots Still Available!

There are still spots available for some of the “Festival Parties”. The ‘Historic Tour’ of St. Thomas is August 5 and still has a few spots available and the ‘Meyer Riviera’ is August 14 with only 6 spots left. Not only are these fun nights out but also supports the parish. See this week’s bulletin for details.

Visiting Missionary

Father John Baptist Opargiw, mccj, a native of Uganda, East Africa, will be in our parish next weekend, to participate in our Annual Missionary Cooperation Plan. He will preach at all the Masses and will make an appeal on behalf of the Comboni Missionaries.

Newport Central Catholic Golf Outing

Newport Central Catholic Golf Outing sponsored by the Boosters Organization will be held on Friday, August 6, at Hickory Sticks featuring tee times and a scramble format. The outing includes drinks and lunch (provided by Skyline Chili) at the course along with dinner (provided by Montgomery Inn) and raffles. Cost is $340 per foursome (minimum $150 deposit required by August 1). Make check payable to NCC Boosters – Golf Outing. NCC Alumni Drama Group Present “A Knight to Remember”

NCC Alumni Drama Group, formally known as “The HillToppers” proudly presents “A Knight to Remember” - an original musical comedy by Kevan Brown. This is a fun show with lots of big production numbers and songs that everyone will be familiar with.

Saturday, August 14 @ 7:30 p.m.

*Wednesday performance price includes the show, dinner, beer and soft drinks for $20.00 each ticket. All other performances are $10.00 each ticket.

Saint Joseph Church Festival Super Raffle

St. Joseph Cold Spring will be hosting their annual parish festival on Saturday, August 7, from 6:00- 11:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 8, from 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Super Raffle will be held with choice of (1) 2010 Ford F150, (2) 2010 Ford Fusion, or (3) $15,000. Parish Health Mininstry News – Attention: Ladies

Do you have any “leftover” yarn you want to put to good use? There are members of the parish who would like to make “prayer lap blankets” for the sick and homebound so they know we are thinking and praying for them. The lap blankets will be given to parishioners when they are visited or taken Holy Communion. A basket will be in the side and back vestibules if you would like to donate any unused yarn. And if you would like to help make a “prayer blanket” or have any other questions please call Ginny Burkart at 441-1259.

Most Rev. Roger J. Foys and the Department of Catechesis and Formation cordially invite you to be their guests at the annual Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Prayer Service, September 12, at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption, Covington, at 3:00 p.m. Solemn Vespers (evening prayer) will be celebrated, followed by a reception in Howard Hall. All couples celebrating their 25th, 50th or 50 plus years anniversary in 2010 are invited to attend. Invitations have been sent by mail.
