Club 55
Club 55 was organized in 1980 as a social group for the senior members of Saint Thomas Parish. Currently, the organization has approximately 150 members, including many from other parishes.
The club meets on the first Sunday of each month, except July and August, in the school cafeteria. A catered luncheon is served at 12:30 PM, followed by a brief formal meeting, after which members enjoy cards (euchre, poker, bridge, etc.) or bingo. Occasionally, there is other entertainment, speakers, tec. Annual dues is $5.00.
Club 55 members enjoy traveling and are offered about seven (7) traveling opportunities each year including state parks, Christmas lights, musical dinner theater, and various other tours/trips ranging from one day to two to seven days. Larry and Carol Schaeper are our travel coordinators.
Club members have the opportunity to donate cash each month for Echo and Father Beiting's Mission. Members volunteer for carious parish functions during the course of the year.
In November, officers are elected to a two-year term, beginning in January and running through December of the second year. Membership is open to anyone aged fifty (50) or older from Saint Thomas Church and invited members from other parishes.
