The Finance Council is a committee made up of 3 to 7 members of the parish who are elected and appointed by the pastor. All the members should be skilled in business matters and be persons of great integrity. The members are appointed for a term of 3 years, renewable for 1 additional term. At least 1 member of the Finance Council must also be an active member of the Parish Council.
The Finance Council’s responsibilities are to assist the pastor in planning and supervising the parish resources, budget and maintenance, develop a budget together with the pastor for approval by the Parish Council, review approve, and sign the Annual Financial Report of the parish, and give consent before an amount in excess of $3000 is spent on unbudgeted items.
The Finance Council meets each month. Visitors must have business before the council and be approved and invited by the chairman.
